Adaptive Program

The Remarkables Adaptive Program achieves freedom for people with disabilities by providing specialised equipment, volunteer training and support, and specialised instruction. We make it possible for everyone in our community regardless of their ability to participate fully in Queenstown’s winter experience. It’s not just about Snowsports, it is about life changing experience. We support adults and children with any disability – physical, cognitive, or sensory.

The Remarkables Adaptive Program has qualified instructors, specialised adaptive equipment and dedicated volunteers to get you where you want to go. 

Lessons:

  • Private lessons are available for one on one coaching with some of the most highly qualified adaptive instructors in the country.
  • Adaptive group lessons may be arranged with prior communication through the Adaptive Program Coordinator.
  • We have a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers to make your time at The Remarkables even more enjoyable. Volunteers can assist you both during and outside of lesson time in a variety of roles.
  • Volunteer support is provided free of charge but may be subject to availability and advance notice is required.

Equipment:

  • The Remarkables has a comprehensive range of modern adaptive equipment from sit skis to outriggers.
  • Equipment is generally only available for rental from The Remarkables, however, equipment may be available for independent skiers and riders using Coronet Peak. 48 hours’ notice is required.

Pricing:

  • The Remarkables offers members of Adaptive Snow Sports New Zealand a 50% discount on lift pass products and adaptive equipment rental, as well as 40% off our regular private lesson pricing.

Ski Bus

Express Return Ski Bus

Relax and enjoy the scenic journey in our 4WD ski bus to and from Coronet Peak and The Remarkables on our ski bus. The daily scheduled bus service runs from the Queenstown Snow Centre on Duke St in Central Queenstown via most main bus stops to the ski area. You can jump on at designated stops along the route when spaces are available. If you purchase online, please make sure you pick up your Mypass Card before you jump on your bus to the mountains. One pass entitles you to one return trip.
